Black and white photograph of Snow Elementary School, front and side elevations. Built in 1911 at 2901 Seneca, Snow was originally called Maple Leaf School and was later renamed Snow for Dr. Francis Huntington Snow, chancellor of the University of Kansas at the time. Snow had several additions over the years growing from a 2-room, single story structure to a 2-story brick school. By the 1950s the school became crowded and plans for a new Snow were underway. In 1956 students moved into the new school located at 2605 W 43rd Street and the property was eventually sold and the building was demolished in 1962.
